Simi Valley Recreation

Simi Valley features a generous selection of parks and amenities for your favorite outdoor recreational activities. Through the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, parks, historical spots, and open spaces were preserved and developed in order to accommodate such leisure activities as biking, hiking, equestrian, horseback riding and a lot more. The park district currently features golf courses, swimming pools, historical museums, and other sports facilities.

Most of the open spaces in Simi Valley are located in the Santa Susana Mountains. There are also various trails for mountain biking and hiking, one of which is Rocky Peak which can be accessed at Kuehner Road and by the Chumash Trail.

Another popular access road for trails is the intersection of Wood Ranch Parkway and Long Canyon Parkway in the west side of the city.

The city of Simi Valley also offers facilities for picnics, tennis games, and ice skating. The local chapter of YMCA organizes a number of recreational activities that can be enjoyed by kids and grownups alike. If you're more of a sport spectator though, you can also enjoy the games of the Simi Valley Senators and the California Oaks, the two collegiate baseball teams in Simi Valley.
